Westonka Public Schools needed a consistent and distinctive brand, proudly representing Westonka’s “small school advantages, big school opportunities”. The high level of pride and interest in the school district on behalf of the community, alumni, students and staff required cautious care and intention in the execution of the rebrand.
Background
Between academics, athletics and activities, the district had over ten legacy logos in circulation and use.
Research
Market research including a communications audit, phone interviews and a focus group was conducted to gather insights and input.
Logo Concepts
Staff surveys and committee meetings were conducted to ensure all voices were heard and felt represented in the design process.
Public School, Public Process!
Over six rounds of design and committee feedback ensured that all parties were thrilled with the end product.
Brand Building
A new suite of logos and marks was created to support and reinforce the brand across the district.
Launch
Working with the school district team, a seamless launch was executed resulting in enthusiastic adoption of the brand.
